If you need to surrender your Doberman

Considering the surrender of your pet is a painful and very difficult decision. Thank you for considering rescue. If you have made the decision to surrender, please complete the Surrender Request Form located below. Our surrender process is not complicated, and we will guide you through the steps. Our rescue and foster homes are dedicated to homeless Dobermans, and we can not provide long-term foster for owners that want dogs back. If that is the case, please contact a boarding facility.

Although we would love to help every Doberman, dogs with a bite history or aggressive behavior will not be considered to enter our rescue.

  • Please note that our highest priority is rescuing Dobermans from high-kill shelters.
  • If you got your dog from another rescue or breeder, check with them first to see if they have a return requirement. Often they will want to have their dogs returned to them rather than someone unknown to them.
  • Plan ahead...it may take time to find the right place for your dog to go.
  • Please fill out the surrender form to help us learn as much as possible about your dog.
  • Please be honest and very detailed when completing this form since the information will help us find the right home for your dog in the future.
  • You will also be requested to send a photo of your dog
  • We would like to have all vet records once you transfer ownership so we do not have to repeat any up to date vetting.
If possible, a donation to help defray expenses is greatly appreciated. This is not a requirement, but it is appreciated since we are a non-profit organization and function solely on donations.
We try to keep our rescued Dobermans in foster homes rather than a shelter or kennel situation to ease the trauma of losing their homes. However, your dog most likely will go to a vet for boarding and medical since we have a limited amount of foster space available.
